Purpose of the position

At Winstanley College, we believe that our people are at the heart of everything we do. With 2,400 students and around 180 staff, our college has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence, innovation and a supportive community where both students and staff can thrive. We are now seeking a motivated and professional Human Resources & Recruitment Officer to join our friendly HR team and help us continue to make Winstanley a great place to work and learn.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for supporting the full employee journey, from recruiting and welcoming new colleagues to ensuring HR systems and records are accurate and compliant. You will play a key role in safeguarding and compliance, managing checks and documentation, and ensuring our recruitment processes are fair, inclusive and efficient. Alongside this, you will support staff with queries, coordinate payroll changes and inductions, and contribute to the ongoing development of HR practices across the College.

We are looking for an organised and approachable professional with experience in HR or administration and ideally a CIPD Level 3 qualification, or the ambition to work towards one. You should be confident in handling sensitive information, comfortable with deadlines, and ready to bring enthusiasm, initiative and professionalism to everything you do. Most importantly, you will share our values of equality, diversity and safeguarding, and be committed to helping others succeed.

In return, you will enjoy generous annual leave, starting at 25 days and rising with service, membership of a contributory pension scheme, and access to professional development opportunities to support your career growth. More than that, you will join a welcoming, collaborative college where your work makes a real impact every day.

If you are ready to take the next step in your HR career and be part of an ambitious and supportive college community, we would love to hear from you.

Winstanley College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
