Job Title: Exam Invigilator
Location: Winstanley College, Billinge, Wigan, WN5 7XF
Salary: S3 £24,759 - £13.13 per hour
Contract Type: Casual contract with flexible working hours between April and July 2026 (in addition to 6 hours of required training)
Working Hours: Ad-hoc / Exam Periods
Start Date: Spring 2026

The Role
We are seeking reliable and professional Exam Invigilators to support the smooth running of internal and external examinations. This role is essential in ensuring exams are conducted in accordance with awarding body regulations.
Work is offered on a casual basis during exam periods, including morning and afternoons. Successful applicants have the ability to work as much or as little as they wish from the available hours offered.
This role is well suited to retirees, students, or those seeking flexible work
Key Responsibilities
• To distribute question papers and associated examination materials, as directed
• To maintain a register of attendance in examinations, provide a seating plan and details of candidate absence, as directed
• To collect examination scripts as directed and to collate these against official attendance registers
• To oversee the commencement and completion of examinations
• To report any irregularities or incidents during exams
• To participate in relevant staff development and training activities
• To work as part of a team and to ensure effective working relations
• To undertake all the above duties in accordance with the College’s procedures in order to satisfy regulations of the Awarding Bodies.
